What is the LEED Certification?The Green Building Museum of Hangzhou, located at Hangzhou Energy and Environment Industry Park, in the southeast province of Zhejiang, has earned LEED Platinum Certification from the US Green Building Council.
The frame structure is made of steel. Gross floor area of the green building is 4679 square meters. The eco-friendly project features a system of passive ventilation, natural lighting design and a special indoor environment monitoring system which constantly controls the temperature, level of humidity and the quality of the air inside of the building. Energy conservation rate is 76.4% annually. The building of the museum also makes use of renewable sources of energy – solar, wind and hydrogen fuel. The green roof is a unique system of rainwater collection and recycling.
The 4-story museum was opened to the public on November 1, 2009.
