What is the LEED Certification?

The headquarters of the architectural company Burt Hill, located in Ahmedabad, is an embodiment of sustainable and innovative design, with glass walls, reduction of energy and water consumption, underground parking spaces and carbon dioxide sensors. And it’s not surprising, as Burt Hill, an American firm established in 1936, is one of the first members of the U.S. Green Building Council and has played a great role in shaping the concept of environmentally responsible design of modern buildings, public spaces and governmental facilities. The firm also provides architectural and engineering services. Burt Hill is a multinational company, with branch offices in a great number of countries in the world and takes into consideration the cultural peculiarities of each nation. The designer of the building in Ahmedabad, Vaishali Shah, made great efforts to create a healthy and eco-friendly working environment which could provide transparency, exchange of ideas and interaction among the workers of the building and individual space for each employee in order to increase their productivity. More than 90% of construction waste was recycled. Burt Hill India Office has earned LEED Platinum certification in the category of corporate interiors.
