Burj Khalifa (named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - the current(2010)President of the United Arab Emirates and emir of Abu Dhabi) currently the tallest structure in the world, at 828m. The total cost for the project was about US $1.5 billion with gross building floor area 309,473 m2. The tower is designed by pilot American architectural and engineering firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP (architect Adrian Smith) and was constructed by South Korean Samsung Engineering & Construction company. Building has Y-shaped plan, which wings allows maximum outward views and inward natural light for apartments and rooms. The primary structural system of Burj Khalifa is reinforced concrete; spire made of metal, facade material is stainless steel. The building consist of corporate and residential suits, Armani Hotel suits, Armani Residence suits, restaurants, elite shops, parking etc. There are 58 elevators and 8 escalators installed. Located in the central core double-deck lifts from Otis Elevators to date are the world's fastest at speed 18 m/s (59 ft/s). Project developer was Emaar Properties-the largest land and real estate developer in UAE. According to developer, office space pricing at Burj Khalifa reached US $43,000 per m2( US $4,000 per sq ft) and the Armani Residences sold for over US $37,500 per m2( US $3,500 per sq ft ). But due to the slumping demand in Dubai's property market in 2007-2011, to date there is less than 50% of offered floor space occupied.

Observation Deck Info » First Deck is located on the level 124 at height 452.1m. Access by high-speed elevators which travelling at speed of 10m/sec. The Souvenirs Boutique available on the level 124 for ticket holders. Deck provides unobstructed 360-degree view of the city, desert and ocean. There are special Burj Khalifa tours which typically last 1 hour.

Second Deck is located on the level 148 at height 555.7 m. It’s built in 2014 and considered the highest Observation Deck in the world at the moment.
