Tiburon Bay House, San Francisco, USA

What is the LEED Certification?

The Tiburon Bay House, built on the north side of the Tiburon peninsula, is the realization of the vision of its owner, Helen Marsh who applied an innovative approach during the design and development of the building. The modern house was built by the design of Butler Armsden Architects. The main contractor of the house is McDonald Construction & Development. Low-VOC paints, used during the construction process, PV solar panels installed on the roof, recycled building materials and other green features helped to reach LEED standards. There is a vertical stair in the middle of the house, and the rooms are centralized around it. The picturesque garden is linked to the house by an outdoor bridge. All the rooms face the garden. The residential project is a vivid example of how contemporary methods of sustainability and eco-friendly design can be applied to homes. Gross floor area is 369 square meters (3973 square feet). The Tiburon Bay House earned LEED Platinum certification.
