At first sight Habitat 67 reminds me the confusion of Babel. This housing complex was built in 1967 as part of Expo 67 on the Marc-Drouin Quay on the Saint Lawrence River, Pierre Dupuy Avenue in Montreal. It is Moshe Sadie’s discovery, based on his master's thesis at McGill University. Maybe in his early childhood he was fond of playing Lego and realized his dearest wish by designing this extraordinary building. Let the cube symbolize stability, wisdom, truth, moral perfection, but we’ll continue to be astonished at the human’s flight of mind. The cube is the base, the mean and the finality of Habitat 67. This unusual housing development comprised of 158 units from one to four bedrooms, with many small gardens and decks, 354 prefabricated individual containers are stacked in a confused order and connected by steel cables to form a three-dimensional housing concept. Projections and recesses are organized in such a way that each apartment has a balcony on the roof of the apartment immediately below. Habitat 67 in its futuristic design is similar to ancient house complexes but uses modern concrete and vertical design methods. It was built in a style of brutalism. This funny complex is a focal point of tourism till now, and it'll always enjoy the warmth of the sun and the delight of people.
