Fools Tower, Vienna, Austria
Fool's tower or Pathological-Anatomical Museum is not in the list of mandatory sightseeing in Vienna. Only the craziest tourists and those who have no sense of fear and disgust agree to visit this place. In 18th century it used to be a mental clinic, where later the museum was founded.
Different diseases and their influence on human body are presented here. The main focus is on gynecology and venereal diseases: human genitals mutated as a result of venereal diseases, inborn pathologies, dried organs etc. Also you can find here mummified skulls of those who "disobeyed" and led debauched life. This was to teach other debauchers. On the whole the museum can be very useful for those who don't really care about their sexual affairs. The visitors can see examples of all those things that can happen to them if they live like that.
The entrance fee for the museum is € 2. It is open on Wednesdays 15:00-18:00, Thursdays 10:00-13:00, and on the first Monday of each month 10:00-13:00.
