Church of the Holy Apostles, Kars, Turkey
The church of the Holy Apostles in Kars was built in 940's, during the reign of King Abas Bagratuni. In 1579 The Holy Apostles was turned into a mosque (by Ottoman Turks) and later, when Kars was under control of Russians, it was converted into a Russian Orthodox Church. However, the church was once again turned into a mosque, but in 1919, when Turks retreat Kars, the Holy Apostles once again became a Christian shrine. In 1920 the cathedral was again turned into a mosque.
